Seeing John Edward

I had just finished doing a reading / healing for my last client of the day on Friday when I got a call from a woman in the current Tarot class - she had an extra ticket to see John Edward, the gifted psychic / medium - in an hour! Two minutes later, as I was putting on my coat, the phone rang again - there was another ticket available! Two phone calls after that, friend Sherry was on her way to the Sharonville Convention Centeer as well. Cost for the event was $175 - only 300 people in the audience - and Sherry and I were going for free!

I have seen John’s books, but since I rarely encounter TV, I knew only that he channels dead folk, normally relatives of those in the audience - and that he wants mainly facts from those on the other side to pass on for verification.

It was great fun to watch. First off, John is cute, has a terrific memory and a very fun and sideways sense of humor. I was paying attention to mostly the technical part of his work. When the other side is pushing him to get nformation out, he looks like he’s about to explode - or perhaps take off from the ground. His cheeks puff out, he’s bouncing on his toes, he’s trying to listen to us, to his guides and all those relatives over there, and to those for whom the message is delivered - all those energies contained in one human. So he’s pacing, pumping his arms, peering around as though he’s in a cave looking out.

He works hard to keep the information clear, direct, simple. He’s patient sometimes, sometimes not - but usually impatient with a smile. At one point John channelled a horse, which was a great comfort to the woman who used to ride him. He also never did figure out what the little boy who had left the planet was trying to tell his parents about the hippo. He just admitted he didn’t get it, and moved on.

There were a lot of people waiting and hoping for messages, and only a few actually got them. The grandmother, who was blaming herself for not knowing in advance that her grandson was suicidal, got many messages and much relief through John from her grandson, who claimed her as the one who had really mothered him.

John was accurate as verified by those for whom he did readings. He was careful not to add his own interpretations, though I felt that would have been helpful in several cases, given his vast experience with these situations. He definitely has his own style and his own beliefs about how to do the work. He described being very upset once, when he thought he was mindreading rather than being a medium. I think they’re both great talents, and very useful, so I was a bit surprised at his reaction.

The energy in the audience as we were leaving after the 2-1/2 hour session was mostly sad, from those who had hoped for a reading. It was also peaceful and full of comfort, given that those in the room now had clear evidence we are not alone on the planet, and death is not the end of anything important.

So thanks to The Universe for arranging this wonderful evening through Diane, and to Sherry for being along. : >

Catching a Cold!

So I pretty much never get sick, yet at 4 p m on a Tuesday, there was a shift in myself, and I knew I was not okay. Just one second to the next. So I paid attention to myself for a moment, did a body scan. Started at my toes and worked my way up, checking out each and every part. Did fine until I got to the chest. A little tightness there, throat heading toward scratchy, nose, sinuses stuffing up - and now a bit of achiness in the joints going back down.

I got back home to my Oscillococcinum around 7 p m, took my first dose of this homeopathic remedy then, another at 1 a m, the last at 7 a m. I love homeopathy - never a side effect (read up on it to understand why!) - and if it’s the right remedy, an almost instant cure / shift back to normality, whatever the ailment. Amazing stuff. Oscillo (whose name I almost never - up until now - get right) is pricey by natural health standards, but not by over the counter remedy standards, and for sure not by prescription drug standards. The three doses I took - and that’s all that’s recommended to take - came in a box with 2 sets of doses for $12 on sale, usually around $20. Nothing compared to a non-effective cold remedy at a run of the mill drugstore - and no liver concerns.

After taking that first dose, I emailed my 2 strongest healers / students / friends to start pouring in energy, put my own name in our Reiki energy healing box, settled my grandson (who was here for the night, as usual, on Tuesday) with his homework and always something good to read, and then got in bed myself with a great book - Wicked. Held the book up with one hand, did Reiki on my chest / immune system with the other.

Woke up Wednesday morning with the cold having receded into the background - which is what Oscillo does - yet realizing how tired I was, and what my language had been the last few weeks. “I have 3 full time jobs.” “My desks at both offices are piled up and need organizing.” And worse of all….”I have too much to do.”

So pretty obviously, I created the cold to give myself a midwinter break. I took Patrick to school, went to the CDC Association office to sign some of our annual membership drive letters, intending to stay just long enough to do that, and to figure out what else needed doing. My wonderful staff - one a computer whiz and the other a totally organized volunteer - figured out what they each could be doing, and told me they didn’t need me that day, or the next couple of days.

I spent the afternoon immersed in Oz via Wicked - and canceling everything that was cancel-able for the next bit of time. By that time, I sounded bad enough that people knew I was sick when I talked to them. Actually looking and sounding bad comes last in the process for me. I know what’s going on a long time before the evidence appears.

Drinking juice, taking vitamin C, reading, drinking green tea and water, reading, eating leftover soup (luckily I had made a huge pot the weekend before - being psychic / intuitive is so great!), reading, stretching, reading, doing a Tarot reading, teaching a class, getting into the political parts of Wicked. A vacation!

By Saturday, I was starting on Eldest, the second book by the phenomenal young writer Christopher Paolini, following on with the story of Eragon and his dragon Sephira. Knew the vacation was ending, because my energy was rapidly increasing. Actually checked emails.

Sunday was a blast doing Attunements at the Victory of Light Holistic Fair, Monday was pretty much back to normal - except I’m still following Eragon and Sephira around in Alagaesia. Since I’m now rested, all that work is suddenly feeling more organized - and I’m continuing to affirm that my life is actually a vacation!
