These Goddess / Spring Days!

February 6, 2007 By admin

February 1 is Imbolc, February 2 is Candlemas and Groundhog’s Day, all are Brigid’s Days – that long-holy time when spring begins, the days when there is enough light that ‘the seed stirs in the earth’.

This is also spring time in the kivas, the sacred spaces of the pueblo peoples.

Notice that it’s light now here in Cincinnati until nearly 6:30 in the evening, and that the sun is a bit higher in the sky during its daily travels.

It sure feels good to know that spring is on the way, doesn’t it? Especially today, during this busy snowstorm with the near-zero temperatures.

Stay Warm!
