So St. Patrick’s Day is coming up – I’ll be marching in the parade on the Big Day with son Brian’s contingent – we always have a great time!
In the meantime, if you want to read about the real right-now Ireland – you’ll never do better than to read McCarthy’s Bar by Pete McCarthy. And for the story of the Irish around the world – again, right now – tis The Road to McCarthy will get you there.
Being about 190% Celtic – having had a Seneca great-grandmother – I’m always looking for books about the Old Sod. Found McCarthy’s Bar in a bookshop on Grafton Street last time I was in Dublin. And laughed the rest of the way through the trip.
Both books are great reads, and almost as good as Laughter Yoga for improving your outlook on the world. Guaranteed!
