I’ve definitely been in Cincinnati long enough to pick up the ‘OMG! It’s going to snow and we’re all going to die!’ syndrome.
It started on Sunday, with the news a major storm was going to hit sometime Tuesday. I was driving with a group to Indianapolis on Tuesday – omg!
On Monday, the news was that the storm wouldn’t hit until 7 p m. We were planning to be back from Indy around 5…if the prognosticators were correct. Driving on Tuesday, we saw Indiana salt trucks out spreading brine – did they know something we didn’t? There was actually sunshine during the afternoon, but the clouds were smoky gray as we headed back.
Got back right around 5, returned the rental van, got everyone properly distributed. I was home at 7. Snug and safe.
Woke up this morning – it had snowed. But there was no snow on the driveway, and there were no real flakes falling – just long strings of wet stuff. And so it continued through most of this day.
Another dire catastrophe that wasn’t. We’ve been luck again, as we are almost every time. Thank heavens! And I’m going to try again to stay calm next time the dread white stuff is predicted. : >
