February and March Sundays are now by tradition the Sunday Salons, proceeds benefiting the Rape Crisis and Abuse Center of Hamilton County. And yesterday’s Salon, held in a wonderful home in Montgomery, was titled “Music, Mystic and Mardi Gras.”
I’ll give you three guesses who the mystic was. First time I’ve been called that at a public event. It was a full house, nearly 40 people. The food was New Orleans, including the king cake. Guitarist Jon Aiken, whom I had not heard before, was quite wonderful – a very good vibe.
When it was my turn, I did Reiki on several people / body parts – a migraine sufferer, an arthritic hand, an aching shoulder. I cannot imagine just talking about Reiki – people need to experience it, or at least watch it being done.
And then it was time for mini-Tarot readings for everyone present. Super fun. I asked each person to pull 3 cards, and then just said, as usual, what came into my head. And, also as usual, Spirit hit the nail on the head every time.
It’s fun to show off just a bit. And also fun to spread the notion that we are all big spiritual beings, not little bitty victims. That all of us can work these miracles – and have this much fun!
