May 3 was youngest son Brian’s birthday, so he and I and his son Patrick (I call him) Keegan (most everyone else calls him) and I went to dinner at Seny, the wonderful tapas bar at DeSales Corner in Walnut Hills.
They had both heard me rave about the restaurant before, which is why it was Brian’s choice. Patrick is now a meat eater, and gave us the carnivore’s take on the restaurant. He was more overcome with each bite of each dish – and left not a morsel.
Brian and I between us chose nearly every vegetarian ‘little dish’ on the menu, swooning with each arrival to the table. The tomatoes – so many kinds, served so many ways. The patataes bravas, always my favorite. The lettuces – amazing. The asparagus, the goat cheese sorbet. So simple, so perfect.
We each chose a different dessert – with mine the avocado creme. Dessert – and easily one of the best I’ve ever eaten.
If you haven’t been there yet – make that call now.
