This year I am so lucky that the wonderful Sarah is helping in the garden. When 17 flats of impatiens are required, plus mowing 4 lawns and planting a huge organic vegetable garden and a good sized herb garden – help is required.
Sarah is cheery, fun, smart, reliable. I gave her a key so she can just come when she wants to. Works well for both of us. As she was leaving yesterday, she mentioned that she had gotten some straw for covering the grass seed when she plants it, and some top soil to help everything grow better.
I walked through the garage this morning to get into my car, punched the garage door opener, and left. Obviously not very awake. I pulled back in this afternoon, must have still been asleep. When I walked around the shelves into the other side of the garage to start getting the trash and recycling together – I ran into an 8 foot long bale of straw and 5 huge bags of top soil.
Clearly, the magical Mary Poppins is helping me in the garden this summer. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
