I love the Fringe Festival – and Cincinnati is so lucky to have a Fringe. Edgy, fun, interesting, exploratory theater. Plus dance, film, visual art. All over the place in Over-the-Rhine, lots of funky venues. And in the Contemporary Arts Center in the middle of downtown. Hurray to the folk who make it happen, major among them Jay Kalagayan.
But one of the very best things about the Fringe is – the folk who show up to watch, participate, encourage. The most interesting folk in town.
Folk who want to experience experimental theater (last night, we stood on Jackson Street and watched Car/ Street – which was about cars and streets and….), who aren’t afraid to be shocked or to wrestle with hard questions.
So when you go to the Fringe (continuing through Saturday, cincyfringe.com), start a conversation with the person next to you. It will definitely be worth it.
