It is so exciting to have Barack Obama move one more step along the path to the presidency. Even though I knew when I became aware of him in 2006 that he was going to be president, my mind, up until now, has still gone into worry when the boulders and big waves show up on the path.
The entire journey has been improbable. And he has handled it almost totally with infinite grace. His speech on Tuesday evening was beautiful, generous, serious, uplifting – and full of grace.
He and Michelle are just happy and comfortable with each other and with the situation. They clearly re-charge each other. And I love pictures of them with their daughters.
I hope he can wander away for a week or so of home, family, inconsequential talk and relaxation. It is perhaps possible that the hardest part of this campaign is over. Feels to me like it is. Boulders and waves smaller from here on out.
We can all turn our attention to picturing the once and future America – that no longer tortures, that feeds all our people and once again protects our rights.
Aaaahhhhh.
p.s. I had to get the old paradigm rant / blog entry out first, before I could return to this peaceful and positive space. : >
