Not sure when late afternoon / early evening it happened – but it was great to see! The whole role call process is fun to watch – each state mentioning all their politicians, all their slogans, everything unique they can think of – and then calling out their votes.
It was fun to watch how finalizing Barack’s nomination was handled. The PBS reporters knew something was happening, not sure what – so the cameras just rolled to let it play out. New Jersey cast its votes, next up New Mexico – which went through its entire process of politicians, Land of Enchantment, etc, etc. And then just before announcing its votes – tossed the ball to The Great State of Illinois, Home of The Next President of The United Statese of America, more et ceteras. After more et ceteras from Illinois, the ball was tossed to The Great State of New York. Which named nearly every politician in the state, and then called Hillary to the floor, to call for closing the role call and declaring Barack Obama the Democratic candidate for President of the United States.
Tears, noise, shouting. Then the motion carried, in a funny moment. And more tears, noise, shouting.
It is done. I was in tears, too.
