You know me and Tarot decks – I very, very seldom meet one I don’t like. I picked up a new one last year from Lisaann’s festival store, Whimsy, called The Fairytale Tarot. I was intrigued by it, because there were a lot of fairy tales I didn’t recognize – and I’ve been reading fairy tales since I was 4.
So Lisaann found the book that goes with the deck a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been having a good time checking out new stories every now and then. I also love the multicultural-ness of the stories – from all over the planet. There’s one called The Fairy Hunt, which seems to be a still-scary but cleaned up version of The Wild Hunt. You don’t want to see them in the sky of an autumn evening.
And then there are the stories we all know, like Puss in Boots, and Rapunzel. It’ll be interesting to see how the authors / creators tie the stories in with the traditional meanings of the cards.
Actually, though, when I read them – it’ll be just like it always is. I just wait for the card to prompt a question for me to ask the Readee, or draw my attention to a particular aspect. Spirit one way or another ties it altogether for me, and I just repeat what I hear!
