Review: Pergola – new in Ft. Thomas

July 6, 2009 By admin

Way back in early June, my friend Pat and I wanted to take a walk and have an excellent dinner – and she had just heard of a new place in Ft. Thomas, not even open a week. That turned out to be one of the best plans ever. A beautiful cool green evening, and at a bend in the road down the hill from the Y – there was Pergola.

It looked perfect – outdoor tables and umbrellas, a seaside bar – it looked just like the kind you can swim up to – and a menu that was totally intriguing. Eggplant straws!? What is that? Of course we had to try it. Presentation of everything was fun and not pretentious. Service was great and comfy – the 2 year old in our group was well taken care of and appreciated.

Golden corn and chickpea croquettes. Grilled portobello Napoleons, white bean hummus. And of course the usual meat menu, presented creatively. Everything drew rave reviews from our entire table – and all those tables around us, as we all talked with each other about which was the best and why.

Good food made with love is always my favorite. That’s what the food is like at Pergola – and all at a moderate price. Enjoy!
