The Story of the Hummingbird

August 3, 2009 By admin

So last Saturday afternoon, I was sitting in the living room doing a reading for a client / friend (we almost always become friends). A hummingbird suddenly appears in the big window, hovering, looking, then flies off. I had made the nectar (with organic sugar) for the hummer feeders (I have 3), but had not yet cleaned the feeders and refilled them. I explained that to my client, and said that I’d do that as soon as we were finished with the reading.

Ten minutes later, the hummer is back – holding steady, just looking at us, staring or maybe glaring. I keep on going with the reading and there she is again. So I ask the read-ee if she likes collard greens, she says she does, I give her scissors and a plastic bag, so she can go out and cut some collards to take home, while I cleaned and changed the 2 backyard feeders. I figured those smart little characters could wait for that third one!

And we were finally able to finish the reading (an excellent one, by the way) in peace.
