Review: Boom! at the Know

December 2, 2009 By pgarry

This was an interesting, intriguing, running around in the brain later kind of play. The apocalypse, played out with a couple, pretty unsuited to each other, forced to stay together as the outside world disappears – all of which is observed from a control booth by a really weird and wonderful character. There is nothing clear in the play, what it means is up to each one of us to figure out what it means. But it certainly was entertaining. It was the first play of the season this year at the Know.

One of the best things about it, from my point of view, was the presence of the dynamo, Alison Vodnoy, as one of the two characters. And – Alison is now back on stage, with Sideways Stories from Wayside School. She plays one of the students on the 30th floor of this school. Given her talent, it’s got to be a great show! It runs November 28 through December 26, 2009.
