There’s a wonderful divination deck that sits on my coffee table: The Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. A friend of mine brought them over several years ago – said she’d had them for a while and they really weren’t hers, they were mine.
After I had them for a few weeks, I began to use the deck for the first card clients / friends pick, to give us the motif / theme of the reading. The way they tell the truth / get to the heart of the matter is astounding.
So tonite after dinner, a friend and I came back home for a cup of tea before ending the evening. (What’s for Dinner, fabulous as it is, closes at 7 p m! Way too early.) As we sat on the couches solving the world’s problems, she wanted to play with the Goddess, and picked two cards – one she had never gotten before.
I decided to play, too, and somehow picked two I didn’t really want. Until I sat with them for a minute, and got the message. I realized they are perfectly tuned with the questions and thoughts in my mind these last few days, as I’m writing about the paradigm shift, and trying to move there ahead of time (you know me – a little bit [!] impatient). (Up Until Now.)
Coventina’s key word is purification/detoxification. Since I’m vegan, etc, etc, I wasn’t getting it. Until I read the write-up in the little booklet. This Celtic goddess of the waters says the solution is at hand right now! “You’ll want to keep a sharp focus on the contents of your mind and speech…, for the words you think and speak are the very diet that supports or thwarts you. Choose purity, and I promise you a changed outlook for the better”.
And of course, She’s right – quit thinking and acting in the old world, and you’ll live in the new world. I say that to folk all the time. Now I’m listening! : >
And since my friend had drawn two cards, so did I. And accordingly made matters worse – or better! Maeve is another Celtic goddess, this time of cycles and rhythms. The message is “Honor the cycles of your body, energy levels and emotions.” Now you know that the (im)patient person who lives here doesn’t really want to hear that, either. Even though it feels perfectly accurate.
Then, as an added bonus, there’s the message from Jovius this morning: What you focus on is just training… Training your brain what to look at and what emotions to chase after.
One of my favorite things about this work is how messages from different sources never contradict, but always support and complement each other. Except, of course, when it’s not one of my favorite things – as it was not for a few minutes this evening.
