October 4, a Monday, 9 days ago, we all met. I to teach the Reiki First Degree class, he, a rural entrepreneur, and she, an urban person and space designer, to study to become First Degree Reiki healers. At the first class, we talked about why we were all in the same room, how our desires for health and healing led us to this time and place. For many students in my classes, Reiki is one of their very first steps on the path to spiritual growth and joy. For each of these two, Reiki was a step pretty far down that path.
We prepared for this week’s Attunement, as I walked them through what happens and might happen during this powerful and beautiful ritual, which each time feels ancient and sacred.
The Cincinnati Reds intervened. Wanting to show our faith in our team, we changed the Attunement date from Monday to Wednesday, so that one student might be able to attend the Monday game, if it happened. Which, as we all know, it did not. But we had shown faith.
This evening, we came back together for the Attunement, which would enable them to begin healing themselves, their spouses, pets, children, plants, to purify food and charge batteries. After de-briefing about their experiences during the Attunement, each began to work on the other and on me, to experience for themselves that amazing flow of energy through our hands into another being. That wonderful gift that Reiki gives each time we touch with intention.
Talking and observing and experiencing and healing. What had been three strangers was now three healers and spiritual learners walking the path together, in harmony and laughter.
Thank you, Spirit. Thank you, Reiki. I am so grateful.
