Ten Thousand Villages, in O’Bryonville, has become my go-to Christmas and birthday place this year. Did you know they have a little corner of food from everywhere? And coffees, too. Plus tea, hot chocolate, olive oil from Palestinian Arabs, and – my favorites – Hot Mango Chutney, Real Lime Marmalade and Peach ‘n Ginger Jam from Swaziland. No preservatives, additives or artificial colourants. (Love that British touch).
I made Christmas with two friends last week just from that store!
And my sister’s November birthday. While I was shopping for her, I saw this incredible pillow from India – orangey-red and green, little mirrors embroidered in. It has instantly become my new favorite (or the British favourite) Christmas decoration.
That is, by the way, my favourite way to shop – one for her, one for me. Seems fair, doesn’t it?
