Yum! Might be better than Tink’s.
That’s the gist of my review of La Poste, the restaurant off Ludlow in Clifton that has replaced Tink’s. The building was formerly the Clifton post office, on Telford – hence the name La Poste, French for post office.
The food is carefully and creatively prepared – not as many vegetarian choices as Tink’s, but enough. The celery root and parsnip soup – wow! Smooth and scrumptious. The salads, fresh, interesting, wonderful. Except that two we wanted to try had meat already involved in them which couldn’t be extricated. We made other choices which were great. The mushroom ravioli more than made up for those disappointments.
And the bread pudding with all kinds of extras like white chocolate. The Best.
Finally got to La Poste on my third try – totally booked well in advance on previous attempts, but this snowy rainy temperature dropping nasty night worked out perfectly. The restaurant was busy but not packed.
And we wandered around Ludlow, mourning Keller’s while enjoying a bit of shopping.
