Friend Regine and I like to wander the region, trying out new places to have high tea – the complete do – scones, then savories (finger sandwiches, a cucumber something) and then sweets, along with wonderful teas to try out.
So it was that yesterday was our time to celebrate the holidays – we hadn’t made it happen in a timely fashion, and the end of February worked out perfectly. So we ventured out to Yesterday’s Cafe and Tea Room in downtown Florence. Really one of the best we’ve found.
A pleasant, light and airy ambience even on a chilly dark day. Lots of nooks and crannies, lots of little interesting shopping opportunities. I found two new mysteries, with a tea motif.
A terrific server, kept everything coming with a relaxed timing, answered all our questions and asked some of her own. And served absolutely wonderful triple trays of food, pointing out which were my vegetarian items.
And three kinds of wonderful well-brewed teas, from a menu of nearly 60.
Aaaahhhh. We’ll definitely repeat this visit.
