There are bluebells big and small and larkspur all over the back and side yards. And two big bushes of spirea – which my mother used to make our May Crowning wreaths from – in one of the raised beds.
In the veggie garden, last autumn’s kales and collard greens are blooming and going to seed in a blaze of yellow glory, overshadowing the rhubarb and the asparagus. Spring is so fast, one color leading in to the next in a matter of days.
I see what the old saying about spring being a riot of color means – it’s fast and furious!
p s My wonderful corn snake Artemis just had her first meal since October. Life just keeps moving on.
