One of my very favorite times of the year ( besides my birthday!) is the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. I like my theater edgy, exploring non-mainstream themes in creative and perhaps off-the-wall ways. So I go to Cincinnati Shakespeare, the Know and Ensemble way more than I go to the Playhouse and a thousand times more than I go to the Aronoff.
So I am ready for 12 days of wild and crazy theater, often in wild and crazy places, which is what the Fringe is all about. My friend and fellow writer (and fellow Reiki Master Teacher) Kathleen Louise Theresa O’Neill has been writing her God Blog for 4 or 5 years, and this year her fellow writers and healers pushed and cajoled and urged and begged and pleaded – and she submitted the God Blog to the Fringe. Lo and Behold – it was accepted.
So along with lots of other exploratory and unusual and whacked out pieces, Kathleen will be presenting the God Blog 5 times during the Festival at the Art Academy.
Tickets are cheap – $12 per performance, 6 tix for the price of 5 ($60). Venues are all over Over-the-Rhine. So many good restaurants to test out during the Festival. Everything is walkable and interesting. The Fringe insert is in this week’s CityBeat. Starts on May 31, performances start June 1. www.cincyfringe.com
