Two fun events in May, prior to The Fringe taking over my life! : >

I love the May Festival, don’t often get there. But this year, I finally managed to hear a performance in the Cathedral Basilica in Covington. Often that particular concert is sold out before I really focus on the event. This year, I was there. And it was wonderful. Sun coming in the two rose windows and other stained glass windows, two well trained and meticulous choirs, two wonderful conductors. This has been on my list so long – and was absolutely as wonderful as I expected.

I also enjoyed the season closer at Cincinnati Shakespeare: The Two Gentlemen of Verona. The 70’s, costumes and all, were perfectly re-created. The dog Crab (played by Mignon) was very funny. Of course, when you’ve got Jeremy Dubin on stage, you’re looking at a comic masterphysical and mental. And Darnell Pierre Benjamin has been showing up in productions around town – a young and terrific talent. This play definitely lived up to the high Cincy Shakes standard.
