I have two friends going through a lot of difficulties right now. And I would put most of those difficulties right squarely in the camp of untrained psychics wreaking havoc.
For a long time, it has seemed to me that many of the folk being treated for mental illnesses are psychics who don’t know they are. Major portions of this culture still have that ‘this is freaking me out’ attitude toward their own intuition. And of course baby children at 2 or 3 who talk about their imaginary friends are taught to disregard their own eyes and their own information, when Mommy says ‘there’s no one there’. To me, that sets up a lifelong struggle for people.
Depression to me is a non-taking of one’s own power, an unconscious refusal to trust one’s own urges (intuitions) toward the life one truly wants – often in favor of some elusive ‘security’. So it’s a reaction to mistrusting intuitive psychic information.
But more serious mental health labels are often applied to psychic people. What if, instead of medication, we first tried writing down the prophecies and then waiting a few days to see what is reported on the news. What if we we asked for complete descriptions of visions and voices, and then had a non-involved person study those descriptions. What if, for an anxious person, we check the barometer, or track earthquakes / major storms in distant places, and see if there’s a correlation.
In addition, let’s tell people that many other folk hear voices, see visions, see colors around other people, smell the perfume their mother wore, etc – and are perfectly normal psychics, and use their gifts to make life better for themselves and others. My test, for folk who sit on my couch and tell me that I’m going to think they are crazy, is to ask them: 1) what do the voices say? 2) how is your life working? If the voices are providing helpful info, and you are able to keep your job, pay your bills, maintain your home, then you are patently functional – and are an untrained psychic.
One direction to go: google your particular ability, read a book about it, take a class, practice your gift and say thank you to Spirit for it. The tension in your head and body will likely calm down, you’ll be breathing again – and your gift will blossom. Aaaahhhhh.
