Wow! I can remember when my son Brian and I – back in the late 70s / early 80s – were the only vegetarians I knew. And he’s the one, at age 11, that got me paying attention to what I ate.
That’s been changing, to the point where Garrison Keillor, in a recent Prairie Home Companion, was telling a story about the vegetarian at the family feast, and pointing out that every family has one.
At the CDC Association’s big annual Awards Celebration, we have on the RSVP page the question about whether the attendee wants a vegetarian or meat luncheon. And this year – wait for it – 25% of the 120 who signed up wanted the vegetarian luncheon!
Wow! What a major change in such a short time. I am impressed!
