So today at 2:40 p m is the moment of the new moon. Our culture wants there to be just a moment when all of the previous full moon is gone and no sign of the moon is in the sky.
For me, though, it’s the dark of the moon. Five or six days when no moon is seen at all – a time for letting go of the old and used up, and beginning preparations for new adventures and expansion. Just being with the emptiness for a while, allowing nothing to happen, needing nothing added. Just the peace of the empty, the finished, the done.
Many folk write their lists of what they want to see expand and grow, just before the moment of the new moon, and tuck the list away somewhere, maybe in a book, to manifest out of sight.
This is a good time to quietly observe, send praise and love to the Mother / Nature, to be with what is, and to cease, for a time, our restless need for constant movement.
Aaaahhhh!
