Restaurant Review: Buz

March 12, 2012 By pgarry

Made it to the soft opening of Buz in Columbia-Tusculum on Saturday night!? It’s the new place just opened by the owners of The Green Dog Cafe.? A door through the side wall, and voila! – there’s a wonderful small white tablecloth venue next door.

Buz is clearly the same kind of local and locavore restaurant as Green Dog.? Upscale in dim lighting, presentation, creative menu.? But prices are not really much up.? Soup was $5, salad was $8.? Veggie entree was $14.? Not much above the Bowls served next door.? I ordered everything I wanted on the menu, as I often do at new restaurants – I’m quite happy to take home whatever I don’t finish.? And the entire bill was $36.? Salad, soup,? tea, and three – or was it four? – appetizers and sides.

The arugula salad was wonderful – the dressing thick and chunky.? The mushroom soup – not soup with mushrooms thrown in, but mushrooms with a bit of soupiness added.? The mashed potatoes with a touch of horseradish, and those Brussels sprouts.? Plus the fries – had them for breakfast yesterday – still delicious.? And the stir-fried edamame.

Aaaaahhhhh.?? It was all great!? You will enjoy this one!
