I wear some shade of green every day, in some form or fashion.? But as St. Patrick’s Day gets closer, everything gets greener!? I’ve been baking Irish soda bread for a week now – more than 20 loaves so far.? And taking a loaf and butter from Ireland along to meetings and gatherings.
The house started being decorated for St. Paddy’s Day (from the Irish for Patrick – Padraig) as the Christmas decorations were coming down – with a little space left for Valentine’s Day, which came and went fairly quickly.? My friend Kristi made me two new Irish elves for this year.
And now tomorrow is the big day.? I’ll be doing Celtic Tarot card readings at the Irish Heritage Center out on Eastern Avenue from 1 til about 7 – which is when the music really gets going!? Too loud to read with – and besides, I’ll be listening to those Celtic sounds.
Sunday I’ll be decompressing, reading the William Butler Yeats biography I bought for the occasion, working on the jigsaw puzzle of an Irish shop in Dublin, with the owner sitting out front playing his fiddle, and finishing up the last of the soda bread.
Another great year, well celebrated.?? Aaaaahhhhh.
