Book Review: The Wish List, Artemis Fowl and other Eoin Colfer Works

July 7, 2012 By pgarry

This Irish guy can really write!? I used to read his books about Artemis Fowl to grandson Patrick while he was coming up.? When he got to old to be read to (or so he thought), I bought them and read them myself.? And having found an older book, pre-Artemis, a few weeks ago, quickly put it on my summer reading list.

This one is called The Wish List.? Very much an Eoin Colfer book – other worldly creatures, dastardly characters, and very smart + lucky heroes / heroines, as the case may be. Meg Finn, our 14-year-old heroine, is both smart and lucky.? But the details, the narrow escapes, the plights she gets into – what a brain Eoin has.

If you like to laugh, grin, be held in suspense, have your imagination exploded – he’s your man.? And I don’t know why they call these kids books.? Those intricate and complex plot definitely would give most grown ups fits.? Loosen up your brain before attempting one of these tales.
