I love to meditate, love how it makes me feel, love the peace that descends.? And yet, like most of us, I don’t do it on a regular basis.? While friend Francine and I were teaching a workshop this summer based on our new book, one of the students mentioned how she had made meditation a regular part of her life.
RPM, said Dee Dee, is what one of her teachers had taught her:? Rise, Pee, Meditate!? Works like a charm for me.? I always wake up early, used to hop on the computer – and then it would be time to feed the birds and go to the office.
Now, with RPM, I go back to bed – but arrange the pillows as though I were going to read a book, so that I am sitting up and comfortable.? If I’ve waked up with a thought, I use that for meditation.? Otherwise, I start with whatever affirmations I’m currently working with, and go from there.
As always, when other thoughts intrude, or I start mentally working on organizing my day -? I just smile and let them go, telling those thoughts that there will be lots of time for all that later.
