Musings on the World Choir Games

July 21, 2012 By pgarry

The World Choir Games came and went so fast – those 10 days only lasted a few hours, seems like!

Then – the rest of last weekend – was the Bunbury indi music festival, plus two Reds games, all on the river.? With the last concert at the Arena last Saturday night, the riverfront was hopping.? The Grand Opening of the new Washington Park fit right in there.

A lot of us have a picture of Cincinnati in our minds which is full of creativity, constant happenings of every sort, many different kinds of folk all over the place at all hours, having fun.? And being looked at admiringly by our fellow citizens.

It sure felt like that dream come true during early July, downtown especially, but really everywhere.? The praise we received from visitors was of a friendly, open, exciting city, so welcoming and so happy.? And the Enquirer, blogs, TV, conversations, City Hall have all been about just exactly that.? How can we do it again?? We all want to have more of that fun.

There are already several possibilities – North and South American Choir Games.? Major league baseball’s All – Star Game in 2014.? We are ready, willing and able.? Bring it on!?? 😕 >
