Friday, August 31, the Blue Moon was full at 9:58 a m.? A blue moon is the second full moon in any month, and happens because Mother Nature has 13 full moons a year, but we’ve set up a calendar not based on natural processes, and so it gets out of whack.
The phrase ‘once in a blue moon’ is totally true, since they are very rare.? The next one, in fact, is July of 2015, 2 years and 11 months from now.
Any unusual event like this provides a great entryway for meditation.? I always treat these days as time out of time, a step out of the ordinary.? I spend the day with a heightened awareness, observing the lessons coming toward me, and those which appear to be receding.? For me, the quiet of summer is quickly being replaced with events and goals during the fall.? At the same time, some of the negativity and challenge of issues and relationships is being replaced with more ease and more fun.? The ebb and flow of our lives.? The waves of teaching and learning – awareness makes the entire process proceed so much more quickly and painlessly.
Thanks, Blue Moon!? It was great to visit with you.
