I had a flying dream many years ago.? And, of course, as to be expected, since my life and dreams tend to be idiosyncratic, it wasn’t the standard flying dream – horizontally like Superman.
I was actually standing still or perhaps moving my feet slowly, standing upright about 10 feet in the air, in a beautiful flowing white gown, moving medium fast without me moving.? I was going to a community meeting in the dusty far West, over the heads of a number of cowboys, also walking to the same meeting, but on the ground.
Folk who study dreams can get very jealous of flying dreams.? Here’s what The Dream Book by Betty Bethards says about them:? “To dream you are flying means you are out of the body, freed from physical limitations.? If you can gain conscious control of the dream, you may direct your movement and traveling to different locations in time-space.? The waking state is really the illusion.? Ask any question you want and the answer will be given to you.”
And here’s what a psychic friend of mine, Wilda Tanner, no longer on the planet, says in her book The Mystical Magical Marvelous World of Dreams: “This can symbolize your ability or your need to rise above a situation or emotion, to avoid being involved to the point of reacting negatively.? Ability to give good for evil. Flying could be an astral-travel remembrance, or can be a desire to move up to higher levels.”
So my second flying dream was just this morning.? It was an image of myself up in the sky on a beautiful, beautiful clear day, fluffy white clouds, very blue October or May sky, perfect temperature.? I was very high in the air.? And I was running in the air!
As I flashed awake, I got the meaning as being – things / books don’t take / don’t have to take me as long as they do other people.? That bright day was so beautiful I woke with tears in my eyes.
