There are about a million things I’ve done in the last few weeks that haven’t been blogged / journalled.? One of the most fun was the Creative Collaborative Retreat, early in October.
Organized by a couple of very creative women who brought their idea to life (Robin OK and Glenda Miles), with additional helpers, there were about 30 of us gathered at the Transfiguration Spirituality Center in Glendale, which is the home place of Episcopalian nuns, the Community of the Transfiguration.? It is a gorgeous and enormously peaceful spot, which I had never visited before.? I actually skipped away from the Retreat to attend Evensong at their beautiful chapel on Saturday evening.
I had met Robin at a Creative Society gathering, and so was on the list of the women notified of the Retreat.? The minute I saw the email, I knew I was to attend, and so I signed up – strictly a right brained decision.? Knowing intuitively that I was to be there, I intentionally did not make it a left-brained decision.
I also became a presenter, talking about the portents of December 21, 2012, as I did Tarot readings and Reiki healings on those attending my workshop.
In addition to skipping away on Saturday for a bit, I had also not been able to attend on Friday during the self-introduction time, so never picked up key details on the women there.? And then on Saturday morning, knowing I had plenty of time, I woke early and wandered the grounds, which have lots of little tucked in spaces and statuary.? When I came into the door when a presentation was beginning – I found I had somehow not spent 10 minutes outside, but well over an hour, and had missed breakfast.? All of which felt just fine to me.? I allowed myself to soak in, and simply be in the beautiful and comfy space.
There were workshops on mandala making, on right brained business planning, a number of wonderful musicians and singers present, a great yoga class, lots of art.? The food was simple and fine, as were the monk’s cells – type bedrooms, each of which had its own bathroom.? So the accommodations were perfect.
It was a great getaway for me, providing a real simplicity fix and quiet time.? They’re planning another one for next fall -? I definitely expect to be there!
