The Chipmunks Are Still Awake!

November 21, 2012 By pgarry

I cannot even believe it!? Almost every year that I’ve lived here, the chipmunks are asleep by the end of October, and it’s a warm day in March when I see them with their little tails straight up, awake and running for food.

But they are definitely still awake.? Pansies, yes.? I am quite used to pansies flourishing until Thanksgiving.? Sometimes even until nearly Christmas.

But chipmunks running around the yard on November 21, a month before the Solstice?? Unheard of.
