Book Review: The Christmas Secret

December 2, 2012 By pgarry

One of the books I bought for my ‘only reading Christmas books at Christmas time’ program is The Christmas Secret, a novel by Donna Van Liere, part of a series called Christmas Hope.

And as it implicitly promises, it is full of schmaltz – much sweetness and home-iness.? Also an amazing number of coincidences – people seeing each other unexpectedly, and missing each other by inches.? The heroine, Christine, really proves the point that when you expect bad stuff, it really piles on.? And when we see life more positively and exuberantly – good stuff then piles on.

It is, nonetheless, a good and fun book – with great characters, and settings where you can see and smell, hear and feel what’s going on.? It also ended just right, which made me very happy.
