Today was a wonderful day!? Sunny all day and nearly mild this afternoon.
I had been determined not to leave the house, but to get most of my wrapping done, as well as making a lot of bread.? The bread is coming along pretty well -? In about 12 minutes, I’ll form the dough resting on the breadboard into 3 loaves and put them into the refrigerator to rise overnight.? So that means today I have baked 6 loaves (2 batches) and have 6 in the fridge to be baked first thing in the morning. And then prepare at least 6 more loaves, to be baked either later in the day or first thing on Christmas morning.
I’ll be sharing several loaves with friends dropping in during the day tomorrow / Christmas Eve, and need at least 12 to take to the family gathering in Glendale during the evening.
As it worked out this morning with family txt consultations, we’ll have breakfast here Christmas morning, then the family feast here either Thursday or Friday evening, plus at least one lunch with a friend and her children.
So I took myself down to Findlay Market this afternoon – had a great time buying a few more presents – regular pistachios and persian pistachios (whatever they are) for my Glendale sister, among other things.? As well as salad greens for the dinner, and lots of fruit to make a fruit compote for breakfast.
Then I went to Adrian Durban to buy my Christmas fleurs – but they had just closed.? So that will be my only trip out tomorrow, until the late in the day trip to Glendale for time with that part of the family.? And I’m figuring out my white elephant – probably some books and some scarves that I’ve never worn.? That is always a wild and crazy part of the evening.
Happy Christmas to all!? And now I’m going soon to my good night, to rise early in the morning for the last push to The Big Day!
