Blue Jays

December 28, 2012 By pgarry

I didn’t realize how long it had been.? But I hadn’t seen any blue jays in my yard since the spring, until the middle of this afternoon.? So I thanked them and praised them and clapped my hands for them.

They are totally outrageous and raucous and daring.? They are the only birds that will take on those greedy squirrels.? Which I much appreciate, in addition to simply appreciating risk takers.

Blue jays always sleep later than anyone else in the back yard family.? At best, it’s always at least 9:30 when they show up.? But I have no idea where they were all summer.

Thanks for coming back to celebrate the New Year, you bright blue noisemakers!
