A Chicken in the Snow

February 2, 2013 By pgarry

There were two fun gatherings today – both of which I skipped. Because of the snow.

First was granddaughter Bryce’s 2nd birthday party at Parky’s Farm in Winton Woods. Actually, when I saw the snow this morning, I just decided I should stay home all day, knowing my chicken-ness in driving in the snow.

Then it stopped, and stayed stopped for quite a while. So I went to a new wellness center up the street that I had wanted to stop in to see, and was going to drive out from there. But it started to snow again as I was leaving the center, so I drove back down the hill to my house instead.

A friend and I had also been going to go out past Morrow to a party to celebrate another friend’s 60th. What she wanted from each of us was a vision of what her future life should look like. I didn’t have that in my head consciously yet, but knew that – since it had been running around in there for a while – I would have an answer when the moment came.

Luckily, the friend I was going to drive out with is also a chicken in the snow. So sometime tomorrow I will get the answer for my morrow friend and email it to her. Tonite was definitely time to stay inside and look out at the weather, not be in it.
