Toenails as a Spiritual Activity

May 17, 2013 By pgarry

Okay, okay. I know painting my toenails does not sound like a spiritual activity! But I experience it that way…

I look forward to the day in spring when I know I will be wearing sandals, or living in bare feet, until October (when I switch to boots). This year it came much later than usual, so my mouth-watering expectations were really building up.

And then – yesterday – warm, with no forecast of anything under 50 for the foreseeable future. My car was having a new water pump installed, so it wouldn’t have heat stroke. Meaning I was home working.

I had time to pay attention – and my little toes looked so bare in their winter nothing. So, staying in the moment, getting everything prepared, I let my beautiful snake pendulum choose the color – a rich and deep orange.

Made my heart happy stroking on the color. And made my heart sing when I was walking around happily in bare feet the rest of the day.
