So this is Wrist #2. The cast comes off on Monday, 4 weeks after it went on, on November 11. It is a beautiful bright green cast, goes with most of what I wear, and when it clashes, it clashes with another green – and that’s never bad! : >
I bought a plastic pull on thing-y at CVS, to put on when I shower. Turned out to be for a leg, and not what the salesperson said. So I took it back, and got a salesperson at Walgreen’s to show me the right stuff – I finally bought one for a little girl, cut the hole a bit bigger in the non-vinyl waterproof seal stuff, and it’s been fine. I’m guessing with the stress on non-vinyl that lots of folk are now allergic to that.
The wrist hurt when I first fell, and hurt / ached that first night – so I continued doing Reiki and took white willow bark. By the next morning, when I went to the emergency room, the pain was 1 to 2 on a scale of 1 to 10, and has not been higher. Thanks, Reiki!
Interesting how much is harder when one wrist is out of commission. Putting on a seat belt means twisting yourself into a pretzel. Opening jars and water bottles is out of the question, at least for the first couple of weeks.
I’ll probably do Wrist #3 when I find out what’s required once the cast comes off. And, of course, anything else I learn along the way.
