I seem to be reading books I acquired years ago and never read. Now they are popping off the various bookshelves and landing at my feet – a sure sign that it’s time to read them!
This book – Dreaming the Past, Dreaming the Future – is subtitled A Herstory of the Earth, and is by Diane Stein. It was published in 1991 – most of the information is from the late 1980s. And it is a spiritual / psychic / intuitive / meditative / feminist / channeled look at what was, what is and what will be as far as Mother Earth / Gaia goes.
I didn’t read it at the time, mostly because I’ve had a hard time reading her writing. Long paragraphs, no breaks, repetitive restatements of the principles / key points she starts out with, without much new information – just saying things over and over, as a way to convince the reader. So I always agree with her, but just don’t read the writing.
Her Reiki book is now a classic – but I’ve never read much at all. What I do is flip it open, as one would a Bible or other spiritual text, to see where my eyes land, and read that paragraph as an intuitive message.
She starts with what many of us believe above the Goddess past. The patriarchy is only 6 to 8,000 years old – for a hundred thousand years or more prior to that, humans lived in largely peaceful Goddess-worshipping groups – cities without walls and full of art, religious ritual and all with strong healing abilities. The biggest major center was Mu / Lemuria, first and for much the longest time. Then, as Mu sank into the Pacific, off the coast of California and as far as Asia, Atlantis rose in the Caribbean to Canary Islands space, though not that big.
Lemurians were highly skilled and lived deceptively simple lives – nearly identical to the first Star Trek: the Next Generation movie. Atlanteans loved technology, though their technology was based on crystals.
After discussing those ancient stories, Diane talks about New Age prophecies, recent prophecies (1984-87) earth changes being predicted as the book was being published.
The last section is about future life progressions, and what hypnotherapy clients and meditators have seen for right about now, and for the 22nd and 23rd centuries. She also talks about visualizing the future into being, utopian books by women written in this time frame, and transcribes a number of the channeled sessions with gifted mediums, and those predictions.
Since the book was written about 25 years ago, it can be seen that some predictions have manifested, and some have mostly not. These predictions are mainly centered on earth changes, for better or worse – earthquakes, storms, volcanoes. And we have had, as we all remember, many unusual earth and weather events.
As usual, I agree with almost everything Diane has said. And, as I understand with my own intuitive information, what I get is what will happen if we keep going the way we are going. If I change what I am doing the outcome will shift / modify to manifest the new information I put into the system. So it is with all of these fairly dire predictions. We can always change the future. And I hope we do – fast enough to make a difference!
