Not as Bad a Storm as Expected!

March 3, 2014 By pgarry

I am really glad the weather folk over-expected on this storm – or that the weather under-performed. Whichever.

Perhaps we’ve just gotten better at all this as well. It was about 3 inches total snow, over a layer of ice. The magnolia that shades the front porch is still suffering, because it has stayed cold. Which it will do tonite, too, and then start the warming up process. Spring will be here on Thursday for sure – it will be in the 40s!

The City was out with beet juice and brine before it even started. And most of us just stayed home through the worst of it. This morning, in beautiful sunshine, we got out, shoveled, salted – and the driveway, steps and cars are now clear as a bell.

The neighbors and I are getting to be real pros, and 3 inches is now nothing. And the cold doesn’t seem as cold, either. But it sure will be nice to see the thermometer hit 40!
