Roger Just Lost to the Djoker!

March 16, 2014 By pgarry

So Roger Federer made his first major final in a long time (1-1/2 years?) against Novak Djokovic today at Indian Wells / BNP Paribas Open in the California desert.

Crossing my fingers, I went to my friend Diane’s house (I don’t have a TV – gave it away years ago, and very seldom miss it) to watch with her. She was dividing her time between upstairs family room tennis and downstairs kitchen basketball (a Louisville and a Miami Heat game).

Roger took the first set easily, and started out the second a little rocky, leveled out – and then lost the set. Third set, Roger was broken immediately, and kept catching up – so it went to a tiebreaker. Close, close, close – but Roger lost. He was great during the trophy presentations, as one would expect his gracious self to be. But he still lost.

It is so painful to watch this glorious Master lose.
