Book Review: A Catered St. Patrick’s Day

March 18, 2014 By pgarry

Another Irish St. Paddy’s Day mystery. (The Irish for Patrick is Padraig, which is why it’s St. Paddy’s Day). Writer Iris Crawford seems to have a book or 3 for most holidays, and when I saw this green cover, I knew it was for me. ‘Zany, witty, puzzling’ it says in one of the reviews.

And I like the detective team – caterers Bernie and Libby, sisters who run a restaurant and bakery + catering, and their father, a former police chief. The mystery is a good one, too – Mike Sweeney is drowned in a barrel of Irish beer – a prosperous stock broker, young guy, lots of friends.

And then, of course, we find out that all of those friends were….not so much. A good one!
