The first daffodil of 2014 popped out early on Sunday morning! What a treat to see that splash of color.
We had already had, much later than usual, snowdrops and winter aconite. They spent most of their time under snow cover, and we didn’t see them til mid-ish-March, rather than mid- to late-January.
But that daffodil, now joined by others, including white ones with orange centers, and by crocuses, was such a sure sign that the world had changed that it brought me tremendous joy. Aaaaahhhhh.
