Janet Evanovich is certainly a funny writer, always going full blast herself, as her production soars with new series, new and deadlier and sexier guys, and now co-writers on some projects, so she can keep cranking out her newest and latest.
This book, Full Blast, with co-writer Charlotte Hughes, is part of a series of Fulls done in the early 2000s – and seems to have been discontinued. She wrote 6, evidently, and is now re-issuing them with new covers! An interesting technique to sell books. And her website is up-to-date and over the top. She really gets the new media, has apps, is on pinterest and all others, does a semi-monthly text message, etc.
This is a fun book, where the detective duo is a mysterious millionaire and a feisty small town newspaper publisher – and in this one, they finally get it together, make love and are making plans for the future. So I just googled to find the next one (this one was published in paperback in 2004) just to see if Janet could do a real relationship. It seems that it all just stopped here.
Of course, she has in the meantime invented Diesel, and many other unique guys. Amazing how she does that. The heroine and the hero or anti-hero are always producing sparks, but not long term heat. With her production and her following, that would seem to be the right fit for her readers and this moment in time.
