Who Reads All Those Ads in the Paper?

January 11, 2015 By pgarry

So I get the newspaper off the driveway on Sunday mornings – walking down the drive, I can hear the stream trickling over the rocks, since it is so very quiet.

And when I bring that big and heavy pile of paper up the steps, I wonder who reads that entire section of ads, and what could they possibly be looking for? There’s a section call Red Plum – I have no idea what that even is. Is it a store? A collaboration of stores? How come I have never heard of it?

Do people still really shop this way? Looking through a hundred pages of ads for bargains in food or clothes or home maintenance? I just cannot even imagine living in that way.

Which is, of course, why I am not a demographic that is desirable by these folk. For which I am deeply grateful!
