Review: The Booksellers on Fountain Square

March 21, 2015 By pgarry

So before going to Little Women at the Shakespeare last night, friend Kathleen and I decided to check out the cafe in The Booksellers on Fountain Square. I had been shopping and wandering in and out since it opened – great and interesting and unusual gifts, as well as an eclectic collection of gifts. But I had not managed to grab a bite to eat while wandering.

It was a very pleasurable place for a simple meal prior to an enthralling play – and only 4 blocks from the theater, which made for a nice walk back and forth, right in the heart of town.

I had the goat cheese flat bread pizza, and the tomato florentine soup, plus my favorite soy chai – they produced a very nice one. After ordering, I saw 2 cronuts in the pastry case, and bought them both for Kathleen and I – since we each had seen them other places, but had never actually tasted one! I ate mine before dinner arrived. Quite a satisfying sweet.

And when dinner arrived, it was also good. This is a very nice, informal, low key place, and the atmosphere of a bookstore always suits me. I will definitely pop in again!
