So there I was last weekend at the Victory of Life Expo at the Sharonville Convention Center – and all I wanted to do was buy CDs. I was, of course, doing Tarot readings, and had limited time to shop. But the place is stuffed full of every kind of wonderful pottery, jewelry, clothes, books, decks, stones…and my mind would not think about anything but CDs. And yes, I know I could download most of the music. But it was those CDs that were in my brain.
I have so many wonderful friends on the right-brained side of my life. And three of them are musicians who always play at the VoL. Lighthawk – Mark Kenworthy – is one of them. And I realized that while I had listened to and loved his keyboards, I had not ever bought any CDs – and one has a hawk in flight on it – one of my favorite images. I love their scream as they streak across the sky. So I knew I wanted that one. I ended up with 4 all told. I’m going to listen to Garden of Illusion during a Reiki session with a client this morning. That and the sunshine should have both my client and I flying.
Then I went to my friend Douglas Blue Feather’s booth, where his fun wife Debbie sold me three of Doug’s Native American flute CDs – a Christmas one as a present, Flute Medicine, which for some reason I don’t have, and his latest, Rhythms of the Night. He is so gifted – we can all just drift away.
And finally Michael and Cindy Fess’ booth. I bought a guided meditation, Journey Through the Stars, with Cindy’s Meditation and Michael’s keyboard, The Unicorn Song (who could resist the title?) with Cindy’s art and meditation and Michael’s music, and Healing Music by Michael, composed specifically to be used by Reiki practitioners. I have been transfixed by his Lemurian Dream for years.
As soon as I had done all that, my brain calmed right down, I went back to my booth, and was soon totally immersed in doing readings again. So I knew I had done just exactly what I had needed to do!
