Play: Fringe Review: We Did It, Girl

June 5, 2016 By pgarry

The Cincinnati Fringe, always the last of May through early June – 12 days or so – is in full swing in our great town again. Super exciting, edgy theater – who cares if all the plays, dance and art are perfect? This is all about exploration, new ideas, going for it – taking that risk and seeing what happens!

We Did It, Girl is all about ending racism as we know it! And this very funny and quite riveting creation – especially that ending – will probably bring out some nuances you had not thought of before. Kevin Crowley, the white D’Shon, has joined a Christian dating site, as has Torie Wiggins, a terrific actress back in town after touring in the one-person show, Your Negro Tour Guide.

This play will take you through all the stereo types, and look at many previously unexplored corners. Kevin is a terrific writer, as well as an excellent actor. This real and humorous tale will hold you tight long after you have left the Art Academy studio where it’s performed. And after you see it – go see some of the other shows. The Fringe is for all of us outside-the-box types, so go for it!
